No, as long as the work follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses parts of matching quality. UK competition law (the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Order) means a maker can't insist on main dealer servicing for routine maintenance. Keep the paperwork with the car.
What's the difference between an interim and a full service?
An interim service is the lighter one, often every six months or 6,000 miles, built around an oil and filter change and safety checks. A full service is usually yearly or every 12,000 miles and adds more filters and a longer list of checks. Your handbook sets the actual intervals.
