Diagnostic testing
When a warning light comes on or a car starts running badly, D&R connects diagnostic equipment, reads the fault codes the car has stored and then tests the parts involved. A code points to a system, not always to the part that failed, so the testing is what stops you paying for parts you didn't need.

Diagnostic testing: common questions
Anything else, ask D&R on WhatsApp. Photos or a short video of the problem help.
Build a booking messageCan I keep driving with the engine light on?
If it's steady and the car drives normally, get it checked soon. If it's flashing, ease off and stop when it's safe: that usually means a misfire, which can damage the catalytic converter. A red warning light means stop.
Why not just clear the warning light?
Clearing a code without finding the cause usually means it comes back, sometimes after more damage has been done. The fault needs finding and fixing first; then the light goes off and stays off.
Do you diagnose vans too?
Yes, diagnostic testing covers cars and light commercial vehicles of all makes.
